Intimate Lightening

Intimate Lightening

What is Intimate Lightening?

Darkening of the skin in the intimate area is far more common than most people realise and it is completely natural. Hormonal changes, friction, hair removal and simple genetics can all cause the skin in these delicate zones to become darker over time, affecting women of every age and skin type.

At La Belle Clinic Melbourne, we offer Dermamelan® Intimate by mesoestetic® a professional depigmentation method developed specifically for the intimate area. This clinically proven treatment gently reduces pigmentation, evens skin tone and refreshes the appearance of intimate skin, with visible results from a single in-clinic session.

Our experienced clinicians perform this treatment with complete professionalism, privacy and care, so you can feel comfortable at every step.

What is Dermamelan® Intimate?

Dermamelan® Intimate by mesoestetic® is a professional depigmentation method designed exclusively for the intimate area. Developed by pioneering specialists in aesthetic gynaecology and backed by clinical studies, it is the leading in-clinic solution for treating intimate hyperpigmentation safely and effectively.

Unlike generic lightening creams, Dermamelan® Intimate works with a dual action: it corrects existing pigmentation while regulating the production of new melanin delivering results in both the short and long term. The method combines a single in-clinic session with a simple home-care program, and also provides an anti-ageing benefit, improving the hydration, elasticity and overall quality of the skin.

What Causes Darkening in the Intimate Area?

Intimate hyperpigmentation can be triggered by a combination of factors:

  • Hormonal changes: puberty, pregnancy, oral contraceptives and menopause all influence melanin production
  • Natural skin biology: the intimate area naturally contains a higher number of melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) than most other areas of the body
  • Friction: tight clothing, sports, and rubbing of the inner thighs
  • Hair removal: repeated waxing, shaving or laser depilation
  • Weight changes and ageing
  • Skin type: deeper skin tones (higher phototypes) show a higher tendency to genital pigmentation

Who is a Suitable Candidate?

Dermamelan® Intimate is ideal for women who have noticed darkening in the intimate area whether after motherhood, through hormonal changes, menopause or simply over time and would like a safe, professional solution. During your consultation, our clinicians will assess your skin, discuss your goals and confirm the treatment is right for you.

Intimate Lightening
How It Works

The Science Behind Dermamelan® Intimate

The colour of our skin is determined by melanin, a natural pigment produced by cells called melanocytes. In the intimate area, these cells are naturally more numerous which is why pigmentation so easily builds up there.

Dermamelan® Intimate works by acting directly on the melanocytes at every stage of the pigmentation process. A synergistic combination of active ingredients including phytic, salicylic, lactic, ferulic and kojic acids, niacinamide and glycyrrhiza root extract exfoliates accumulated pigment, inhibits new melanin synthesis and calms the skin.

The result is a progressive, controlled lightening of the treated area, together with renewed, healthier-looking skin all without lasers or harsh procedures.

Aftercare

Post-Treatment Care

Caring for the area correctly after your session is the key to beautiful, lasting results:

  • Remove the in-clinic mask at home after 2 hours with lukewarm water no rubbing
  • Apply the soothing crystal fiber mask for 10-15 minutes to calm the skin
  • From 48 hours post-treatment, apply the Dermamelan® Intimate home gel nightly for approximately 3 months, as directed by your clinician
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing and use a panty liner to protect underwear
  • Avoid intimate activity for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid waxing, laser hair removal or any other exfoliating treatments in the area during your home-care program

Our team will guide you through every step and remains available for any questions throughout your treatment journey.

05
Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

01.What is intimate lightening?

Intimate lightening is a professional depigmentation treatment that reduces darkening of the skin in the intimate area. At La Belle Clinic we use Dermamelan® Intimate by mesoestetic® a medically developed method that corrects existing pigmentation and regulates new melanin production, revealing a brighter, more even skin tone.

02.Which areas can be treated?

Dermamelan® Intimate is specially developed for the external intimate area, including the groin and inner thighs, mons pubis, the genito-perineal area and the perianal area. The product is for external use only and is never applied to mucosa or internal areas.

03.Is darkening in the intimate area normal?

Yes completely. The intimate area naturally contains more pigment-producing cells than most parts of the body, and hormonal changes (pregnancy, contraceptives, menopause), friction from clothing or sport, hair removal and ageing can all deepen this pigmentation over time. It affects women of all ages and all skin types.

04.Does the treatment hurt?

The treatment is generally very well tolerated. A protective balm is applied to the most delicate areas before the peel, and most clients feel only mild warmth or tingling during the application. Some temporary redness or stinging afterwards is normal and settles quickly.

05.How many sessions will I need?

Just one in-clinic session, followed by a simple home-care program of approximately 3 months. Visible results appear after the single clinical session, and the home care maintains and enhances the lightening effect. A maintenance session may be recommended depending on your individual response.

06.When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Many clients notice an improvement within the first weeks, with results continuing to build throughout the home-care program. Results are long-lasting when aftercare is followed, though factors such as hormonal changes and friction can gradually encourage new pigmentation our team will advise you on simple maintenance to protect your results.

07.How do I prepare for the treatment?

We recommend removing hair from the area 24-48 hours before your appointment (depilatory cream is preferred), avoiding waxing or laser hair removal for at least one week prior, and avoiding UV exposure on the area for 15 days before treatment. The treatment is not performed during menstruation. On the day, wear loose, comfortable clothing.

08.Is there any downtime?

Downtime is minimal. You can return to normal daily activities straight away. Temporary redness, mild irritation or light flaking may occur in the days following treatment this is a normal part of the skin-renewal process and settles on its own.

09.Is the treatment safe?

Yes. Dermamelan® Intimate was developed by pioneering specialists in aesthetic gynaecology and is backed by clinical studies demonstrating its efficacy and safety. At La Belle Clinic, the treatment is only performed by trained professionals following the complete mesoestetic® protocol.
