Feeling persistently tired or run down is common, and it can have many causes. If low vitamin B12 has been identified as a contributing factor for you, B12 infusion therapy is one option we can discuss.
Oral B12 supplements work well for many people. Absorption can be reduced in some circumstances, including certain gut conditions, some medications and increasing age. IV delivery bypasses the digestive tract, which can allow higher circulating levels than an equivalent oral dose. Whether this route is appropriate for you depends on your individual circumstances and is something we’ll assess at consultation.
Vitamin B12 has several important roles in the body:
B12 is water-soluble, and dietary sources include meat, dairy and eggs. Absorption can be affected by age, certain gut conditions, and some dietary patterns.
Low vitamin B12 can contribute to symptoms such as tiredness, low concentration, and changes in mood, but these symptoms have many possible causes and are not specific to B12.
If you’re experiencing ongoing symptoms, we recommend seeing your GP for assessment. A blood test is the way to confirm whether your B12 level is low, and it’s important to identify the underlying cause, since low B12 can result from conditions that need their own treatment. Some symptoms, including numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, should be assessed by a doctor promptly.
If a deficiency has been identified, we can discuss whether B12 infusion therapy is an appropriate part of your management, in consultation with your treating doctor.
We know that medical environments can sometimes feel cold or intimidating. At La Belle Clinic, we have designed our Vitamin B12 IV therapy clinic to be a sanctuary of relaxation.
Before any treatment, we sit down with you to discuss your health goals and symptoms. We want to ensure that a B12 drip is the right choice for your specific needs.
01Once you are settled into one of our comfortable lounge chairs, a highly trained professional will gently administer the B12 IV treatment. The process is quick, usually 30 to 45 minutes, and involves minimal discomfort.
02There is zero downtime. Most of our clients read a book, catch up on emails, or simply close their eyes and meditate during their Vitamin B12 IV therapy. Once finished, you can head straight back to your day, often feeling a renewed sense of clarity.

Frequency depends on your individual circumstances and your practitioner’s advice. Some clients attend monthly, while those correcting a confirmed deficiency may need more frequent sessions initially.
Most clients report only a slight pinch during the initial needle insertion. Once the infusion starts, you should not feel any discomfort.
Responses vary between individuals. Where a confirmed deficiency is being corrected, improvement is usually gradual rather than immediate.
As with any intravenous procedure, there are risks to be aware of. The most common are bruising or discomfort at the cannula site. Less common risks include inflammation of the vein, fluid leaking into surrounding tissue, infection, and rarely an allergic reaction. Your practitioner will discuss these with you before treatment. See our Risks and Safety Information section for more detail.
We recommend recent blood work before treatment. It confirms whether your B12 is genuinely low, helps identify any underlying cause that may need separate treatment, and allows us to tailor your treatment appropriately.
We’ll review your current medications and health history during your consultation to check whether treatment is appropriate for you. Please bring a list of anything you’re currently taking.
