Shaving, waxing, and plucking can often feel like an endless cycle in your daily routine. If you are looking for a more structural alternative to managing unwanted body or facial hair, laser hair reduction treatments may offer a practical path forward.
Laser hair reduction works by sending targeted light energy down into the hair follicle. The pigment in the hair absorbs this light, which generates gentle heat to disrupt the hair’s normal growth cycle.
Because hair grows in distinct phases, the treatment is most effective when the hair is in its active growing stage. Laser hair reduction treatments may assist with reducing unwanted hair growth over time. However, it is important to note that individual results vary significantly based on your unique skin type, hair colour, and genetic factors.
First of all, we want you to feel safe and comfortable while visiting our clinic. This procedure can be sensed differently by every individual patient, but usually, people note a fast, warm pinch or a snap on their skin. Our specialists take special care to provide you with professional assistance. During your first individual consultation, we will discuss all issues related to suitability, realistic expectations, and the best way to work with your skin.
An in-person skin assessment and clinical consultation are required before the first treatment, because patient safety, contraindication screening, and realistic expectation-setting all require physical assessment.
An experienced Laser Therapist operates lower-risk laser and IPL equipment with appropriate certification. If an Alma or Fotona Class 4 laser is used, the certified laser therapist operates within a clinical governance framework. Further, the clinic uses high-powered medical lasers for clinical indications with a proper delegated authority structure. IPL or Class 3B diode laser treatments are also done by a certified dermal/laser therapist.
This method is often considered a permanent one. This is just a reduction procedure, as you can reduce your hair over the long term; however, there is no guarantee the results will be permanent. Due to various biological changes, some dormant hair follicles may regenerate, so you may require additional treatment sessions in the future.
According to medical guidelines, hair removal procedures cannot be provided if your hair isn’t in the active phase. Each patient requires a unique approach, and after the consultation with the Laser Therapist, the appropriate number of visits will be determined based on your personal evaluation during the first consultation.
We try hard to make your session as painless as possible. Usually, patients feel a fast, warm sensation, a prickle, or a slight warm snap during the procedure itself. It shouldn’t bother you very much. Inform the clinician about this issue during your session, so that they can adjust the settings to make you feel comfortable.
Temporary and minor side effects are common following each session. Some redness may appear on your skin, and swelling around hair follicles, and a sunburn-like sensation may also be evident immediately after the treatment. It is also likely that these side effects would last for a few hours up to a few days. La Belle Clinic will provide simple instructions regarding proper care after the session.
